Description: In South Boston, the state police force is waging war on Irish-American organized crime. Young undercover cop Billy Costigan is assigned to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by gangland chief Frank Costello. While Billy quickly gains Costello's confidence, Colin Sullivan, a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the state police as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the mob and the police that there's a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy-and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself. But is either willing to turn on the friends and comrades they've made during their long stints undercover?
Descrierea:“Cartita” este plasat in sudul Bostonului, acolo unde Departamentul de Politie al statului Massachusetts a declarat un razboi total, menit sa distruga varfurile crimei organizate. Ideea este sa se puna capat domniei puternicului cap al mafiei, Frank Costello, actionandu-se din interiorul structurii mafiote. Un tanar novice, Billy Costigan, care a crescut in sudul Bostonului, este cel desemnat sa se infiltreze in cercurile mafiei conduse de Costello. In timp ce Billy isi da silinta sa castige increderea lui Costello, un alt tanar politist venit de pe strazile din „sud”, Colin Sullivan, se afirma cu repeziciune in departamentul de politie al statului.
Fiind promovat in Sectia de Investigatii Speciale, Colin face parte dintr-o mana de politisti de elita a caror misiune este sa-l distruga pe Costello. Insa ceea ce nu stiu superiorii sai este ca acest Colin lucreaza de fapt pentru Costello, informandu-l pe seful crimei organizate despre fiecare pas pe care urmeaza sa-l faca politia. Atunci cand atat gangsterii, cat si politia, realizeaza ca o “cartita” s-a infiltrat printre ei, Billy si Colin se afla intr-un continuu pericol de a fi prinsi si dati pe mana dusmanului si fiecare trebuie sa se grabeasca sa descopere identitatea celuilalt pentru a se salva la timp.
